Musey:
A Mobile App For Discovering Museums
Musey is a mobile app concept I designed as an academic project for my mobile design course at Santa Monica College. It helps people explore museums from their phones, with an navigation map for exhibits , audio for each piece, event registration and check-in, and entry scanning that gives museums a simple headcount.
Role
UX & UI, Research
Tools
Adobe Photoshop, Figma, Miro
Scope
5 Weeks | Spring 2026
Problem
Visitors don’t know where to register for museum events. The info is scattered or hard to find, so people miss events or only hear about them afterward.
Solution
Musey gives museums one place to show their events and gives visitors one place to find and register for them. It notifies you when new events are coming up, so you don’t miss them, and it keeps track of what you’ve signed up for. Museums get more exposure for their events without visitors having to go looking. Navigation inside the museum is a bonus for when you’re there.
Impact
Musey makes it easier for visitors to find and register for museum events before they happen, which helps museums fill them and see who’s coming. Navigation gives people a reason to keep using the app once they’re at the museum. It taught me to design around real visitor habits.

Research
Personas, Ideation , Information Architecture, Wireframes
Two personas shaped the app: a creative looking for events and a teacher who just wants to explore providing a great guided experience for his daughter and students.
Personas
Ideation
I started by brainstorming ways to help visitors find events, navigate exhibits, and access audio, then narrowed the ideas down to the core features through sketching.
Information Architecture
I organized the app around five core sections after Home: Featured Events, Featured Museums, Museum Exhibits, Museum Exhibit Maps, and Profile.

Final Application
This project was really insightful in being able to come up with a concept, as well as a problem while introducing things that are available to the general public like museums. I think for future iterations I would like to explore an interactive concept utilizing the camera for exhibitions, whether it be identifying what the person is looking at if they can’t reach the actual museum card with information, or simply want to explore what other things are nearby.
