Mobile App Concept
Developing an intuitive mobile experience for curated events and museum visit navigation.
Role: UX & UI
Timeline: 8 Weeks
Tools: Figma, Photoshop
Problem:
The problem I identified is that people aren't discovering or going to museums, and even though they're constantly consuming media on their devices. Museums host events and exhibitions, but unless you're actively searching, you miss them. The rise of AI-generated art also made me think: people should be connecting with original artwork that was made to speak to you emotionally, not generated on demand.
Solution:
The solution I created is Musey, a mobile app that connects people with art exhibitions, museum events, and in-museum navigation, all in one place. It surfaces personalized exhibit recommendations, notifies you about events before they pass, and guides you through the museum itself.
Target Audience
The target audience for Musey includes advocates for the arts, people looking to engage within the arts and museums, as well as others who are looking to involve themselves in communities that have events that target creativity. It also includes those who want to be in the know of the next events at their local museums and any upcoming exhibits as well. Locations would start with those in California, mostly within the creative hubs like Los Angeles and income would probably range from the 40K mark to 120K.
Ages including 23-40.
Mobile App Concept
Musey is a mobile app that connects people with museums, exhibitions, and cultural events in their city. It solves the problem of low awareness and missed opportunities by delivering personalized exhibit recommendations and event notifications based on each user's interests. Inside the museum, Musey acts as a navigation tool, helping users find specific galleries and facilities without relying on a paper map. The goal is to make art and culture feel accessible, relevant, and easy to engage with for anyone who carries a smartphone.

Reflection
Overall as someone who enjoys going to exhibits and discovering new things, especially art, the concept itself was something that really made me use critical thinking in the potential problems of today. Making the concept of something that involves people interacting with exhibits and connecting with other forms of community was something that I prioritized, so seeing it come to life was a great experience.
